On my third attempt I had too many stitches after the heel and one dropped stitch in the foot. So I’m 🐸 it and practicing the toe decreases.
Good news. I now have the Neko needles 3.0mm and 3.5mm. Now I’m ready to practice sock knitting with the 3.5mm and Wool Ease DK.
Really love what I got on @Etsy from RosiesMoments. #etsystar http://etsy.me/2oWgTB8
Have my third attempt at knitting a sock on my needles.
First time I dropped stitches way too many times.
Second time I had way too many stitches. 😀
I have the correct number of stitches and 1″ to knit for the leg.
Had to get my knitting reference manual by Anne Budd. Between her instructions and the pattern instructions, I feel confident.
I’m eyeballing shawl patterns. Need a comfy shawl for around the house. Have Lion Brand Homespun in my stash.
Hope you’re having knitting fun.
My three dogs and I live in the Mojave Desert California USA.
Learned to knit in 1963 in Sunday school. Don’t remember when I learned to crochet.
In 2014 I had a life changing seizure. Fortunately, I remembered my prayers, family and loved ones. I’m walking, talking, reading and writing. Relearning to knit is very satisfying. Sometimes I remember how to knit the pattern repeat as I’m knitting.
- December 2016 I knit 2 corner-to-corner blankies. Garter stitch, worsted weight on US7.
- January 2017 I knit 3 pairs of socks. Bev’s Country Cottage Easy Socks. Two needle, side seams socks. 1×1 rib leg, garter stitch foot, sport weight on US5.
- Don’t know how to get out of bullet points. Sorry.
Not able to read charted patterns. For socks I tried DPNs, Magic Loop, 9″ circs and 2 circs. Way too confusing. Yet I had all the needles and books to knit this way.
That’s how I started using bent DPNs.
I cast on my first sock. I’m knitting with Niko bent DPNs.
Magic Loop, 2 circs and 4 or 5 DPNs confuse me now. I must have used them in the past. In my knitting stuff I found DPNs and 32″ circs in US 0-3. I also found 9″ circs in the same sizes. Maybe I used them for premie hats.
Stitches From the Heart is the charity I donated knitted items. Have to find out what happened to them.
Back to sox. Yarn is Bernat Sox Noveau, 60% acrylic/40% nylon. The skein is 50 grams/203 yards. Colorway is Hot Tamale. Don’t remember when or where I bought the 2 skeins for $3.50 each.
I plan on sending this pair, if they turn out nice, to Tulku Tenzin Thardo.
